Withdrawal 2015
Feminine bodies, too, are over-surveillanced in society in their own right. When dealing with the intersection of being a black woman I find that our bodies are over sexualized and fetishized all while demonizing us for being us. We didn't ask to be here, but we are. Through the constant assault, badgering, and confrontations I go through daily I have formed this visual depiction of this withdrawal society has boxed us into. A withdrawal that I often find myself falling into by choice out of protection for myself.
